Dear CHA Community,
Our strength grows through our community as we gather together to celebrate one another and our families. While a building, event or picnic provides the place, the people make the experience. In keeping good company with people who uplift you their presence brings out the best in all of us. I look forward to being in good company on Sunday at the CHAPTER picnic, celebrating a successful year and enjoying time together.
TOCA – An exciting new soccer camp is coming to CHA this summer! TOCA means “touch” in Italian and in soccer refers to your “first touch” on the ball and how you control the ball in play. TOCA utilizes automatic ball machines to direct the location and speed of the ball to increase a players skill on the ball. To hear TOCA’s story, check out the link: https://tocafootball.com/story/ . The attached flyer shares the details of the camp to be hosted at CHA. The three sessions are limited to 10 players each between the ages of 9-11 and will fill up quickly. It’s a fantastic program and I’m excited to bring it to CHA.
Field Day – There are still some spots open for Parent Volunteers! All parents are invited to attend, but if you would like to assist, hop on over to our Sign-Up link here!
Moving Up Ceremony – We are very excited for this, our final event of the year. The ceremony will take place at Bellevue College on Friday, June 14th. All students must be in Dress Uniform, including shoes. The Ceremony begins at 9:30 am. Please note that CHA will be closed after the Ceremony and there will be no Extended Day. After your child has been signed out with their homeroom teacher, you will need to take them from Bellevue College or arrange for them to be picked up as there will be no return transportation to school. Please look out for the Permission Slip that is coming home in Friday Folders today; it’s important that you fill it out and return to school so that we can make a bus schedule for the morning. We will have more information about parking options in next week’s Campus Updates.
Referral Bonus - Hopefully you received Monique’s announcement earlier this week. We still have some limited space available for the fall, and if you refer a new family to us, and they apply and are accepted between June 1st and 30th, and attend CHA in the fall, you will receive a $750 tuition credit paid out on October 1, 2019. Please contact Monique at [email protected] if you need more information.
Spirit Week – Thank you for supporting the sale of Friendship Grams (cards with bracelets, pencils, keychains, etc. attached), which will be delivered during Spirit Week June 3-7. Here are the themes for next week. Anyone who does not want to dress in the day’s theme may have Free Dress:

- Tuesday, June 4 – Twin Tuesday
- Wednesday, June 5 – Wacky Wednesday (mismatched clothing and crazy hair)
- Thursday, June 6 – Throwback Thursday (wear any fashions from the past)
- Friday, June 7 – Future Friday (wear fashions you think people in the future will wear)
Spring Food Drive June 3-7 - One final time this school year, the Student Lighthouse team is reaching out to ask for your support in helping local community members in need. With no free or reduced lunches at schools, Renewal Food Bank in Bellevue serves more families during the summer months than at any other time in the year. With this in mind, we are asking for donations of nonperishable food items and personal hygiene supplies during the week of June 3rd-7th. They are currently in need of baby food, boxed pasta meals, canned beans, canned fruit, canned tuna, canned vegetables, canned soup, dried pasta, Top Ramen. The Student Lighthouse team will take CHA’s donations when we volunteer at the food bank on June 10th. We will have a table set up near the lobby for your donations. Thank you so much for supporting the Student Lighthouse team’s activities all year!
Niche Profile – CHA has a profile on a marketing site called Niche which a lot of families use when they are moving in to the area. We would love to be included in their list of best schools in Bellevue, but in order to do that we need five reviews and we currently only have one. If you have something nice to say about our school, it would be wonderful if you would head on over here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and give us a review. If there is something that you don’t like about CHA, we would prefer you told is us in person so that we can talk about how we can fix it. Please contact us at [email protected]brighthorizons.com with questions, comments or suggestions.
Parent Survey Results – We were delighted to see how many parents completed the Parent Survey last month. We got as many responses as we have students, which is awesome. We have uploaded the results of the survey to the Parent Portal where you can view them here. Overall, we were very happy with the feedback you gave us, but there is always room to do better. One of the first jobs the admin team will have, once school gets out, will be to analyze the verbatims you supplied to identify where we should focus our efforts as we look to improve the service we provide.
Registration Information – Thank you to everyone who has already completed their TADS reenrollment registration information. If you didn’t receive the TADS email, please email [email protected]. The deadline for completing registration paperwork is July 1st.
Next Week’s Snack Menu – You can view the snack menu for next week here.
