Dear CHA Community,
When “EVERYTHING IS AWESOME” you know you must be part of the CHA community. Thank you for your participation in the Auction. Whether you attended or were there in spirit, I appreciate your procurement of items auctioned, your sponsorship of the event or a teacher, your donation of time for set up, clean up and organization prior to the event and your continued support. Together, we achieve more. I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this community and all that we accomplish.
CHA Fund-a-Need ‘Innovation Lab’ - Two years ago, we introduced Lego Story Starter and More to Math, thanks to the generosity of our parents, and they have been a great hit and continue to be utilized in support of our curriculum. We would like to take this to the next level, by setting up a dedicated Lego Lab equipped with WeDo Robotics and Simple Machine kits. In partnership with Bright Horizons, and CHAPTER, the Innovation Lab will be part of how we connect students to one another, curriculum and content, and the world beyond. This is the video we shared at the Gala Auction - https://www.dropbox.com/s/dj07u6xktezy586/Fund%20a%20Need.mp4?dl=0. If you would like to contribute, but were unable to attend the auction, we would love to give you that opportunity! Please drop off your check, made out to CHAPTER, with ‘Fund-A-Need’ included in the memo, at the front desk.
Report Cards – We sent Report Cards home on Tuesday afternoon via Jupiter. Initially, on T2 comments and grades were turned on, but this was rectified to show T1 and T2. If you did not receive your CHA student’s report card, please email Mrs. Morlidge. If you have questions about the content of the report card, please discuss with your students’ teachers at your conference.
April Lunch Orders - The order form is open for those of you wishing to order hot school lunches during the month of April. You will find the menu and the order form here. The order form will remain open until 4pm on Friday March 29th. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] .
Spring Musicals – Tickets for the musical performances, are coming home in ‘Friday Folders’ today. Due to limited seating, every family in each grade level receives the same amount of tickets. If you would like an extra ticket, please email Maddie Snyder who will add you to a waitlist for additional tickets. If you find yourself with extra tickets that you do not need, please turn them in at the front desk. Additional tickets will be pulled from this lot and will be reallocated as we get closer to the week of musicals on a first come, first serve basis. There is no space for 1st and 4th Grade parents at the Matinee performance, but there may be extra tickets available for the evening performance, which you can ask Maddie for. No tickets are needed for the Tuesday Matinee performance.
Summer Camp Registration - CHA families will receive a 10% Early Bird Discount on enrollment (not including the registration fee or Extended Day) for Camp Explorations registration forms submitted by May 17th, 2019. Early Bird Discount does not apply to the School’sOUT! and Back Up Care Systems. You can find all the information you need at www.chestnuthillacademy.com/campus-life/camps.
Extracurriculars for Spring - The spring program starts the week beginning Monday, April 1st and finishes the week beginning Monday, June 3rd, 2019. There will be no classes held April 8-12, May 24 and 27 unless communicated otherwise by the instructor. You can see all the registration information at chestnuthillacademy.com/extracurriculars. Classes are filling up, so if you plan to register for a class, we encourage you to do so by Monday, March 18th.
Thank you! Chapter would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated and came out to celebrate at our annual Gala and Auction! It was a special night and it was great to build community with our CHA families, friends, teachers and staff. A special thank you to Sukriti Singhal and her team of incredible people for making it a huge success! We will be crunching the numbers for a while as we factor in teacher experiences, corporate matching etc. but for now are happy to share that the auction netted $235,000.
CHAPTER is pleased to sponsor our Annual Spring Basket Sale! These beautiful flowers are perfect as an early Mother’s Day gift! The Baskets produce beautiful blooms throughout the summer if kept in a partly sunny location and watered regularly. These are not your run-of-the-mill plants; they are greenhouse grown locally and are absolutely beautiful. They make great gifts for family, co-workers, neighbors, service providers, and of course, yourself!
• Orders due Friday, March 29th
• Basket pickup day: Thursday, April 25th from 2:45pm-6pm in CHA Garage.
• Please place your orders through the Chapter website: https://cha-chapter.org/
Volunteers Needed for Faculty Appreciation Week. Volunteers are needed next month to start planning and organizing the event. The success of our parent sponsored events depends largely on the generous contributions of time our members give. Please contact CHAPTER Volunteer Coordinator Steven Daly if you can assist with any of the activities.
Mom’s Night Out at Jimmy Choo is on April 19th from 6:30-8:30pm. Please join fellow CHA moms at Jimmy Choo to browse their Spring collection while enjoying appetizers, champagne, and wine. They are graciously donating a portion of the sales back to CHA. Please click on the link to rsvp http://evite.me/CJ97DeSVD3 or contact Susan Archer at [email protected] for more information.
CHAPTER Board Positions. Please contact [email protected] if you’d be interested in participating in CHAPTER Leadership or Representative roles for the 2019 – 2020 school year.
All the best, Holly Senaga, Head of School
