Dear CHA Community,
Throughout Black History Month, our student body studied famous African Americans. They synergized to create a quilt square in their class while learning about African American Inventors, Musicians, Athletes, Activists, Civil Rights, and Entertainers. Each individual piece of the quilt was put together to create a larger quilt that honored the contributions and accomplishments that have had life changing impacts. Outside of student presentations, Mr. Rees led his CHAMPS group through two drum performances and the community joined him in singing, “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge. Our assembly also honored our second trimester Student Leaders. Congratulations to each grade level recipient! Mrs. Morlidge has uploaded the video from yesterday’s assembly to the CHA Dropbox here. You will need to download it if you want to watch more than the first fifteen minutes.
Kindness Week – The Kindness Club provided a great week of activities in and outside of the classroom to enjoy. The daily quotes by inspiring leaders that were shared by club members at the end of every day were well received. We appreciate your participation and keeping kindness and consideration at the forefront of all we do.
Summer Camp Registration - Camp Explorations registration opens today! Whether you are a returning camper or new to Camp Explorations, this summer will be sure to deliver a rewarding experience. Each day, campers (ages 5-12) explore the world around them through varying themed experiences. Activities, workshops, and guest speakers all help ignite curiosity and the explorer in each of us. Our camp program is staffed by seasoned childcare professionals that create a positive environment for growth throughout the summer. CHA families will receive a 10% Early Bird Discount on enrollment (not including the registration fee or Extended Day) for registration forms submitted by May 17th, 2019. Early Bird Discount does not apply to the School’sOUT! and Back Up Care Systems. You can find all the information you need at www.chestnuthillacademy.com/campus-life/camps
Extracurriculars for Spring - Enrollment for Spring Extracurriculars opens on today! The spring program starts the week beginning Monday, April 1st and finishes the week beginning Monday, June 3rd. There will be no classes held April 8th -12th, May 24th and 27th unless communicated otherwise by the instructor. You can see all the information about the classes at chestnuthillacademy.com/extracurriculars. Click on teacher names to email them, and the Registration Information link for program details. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for a complete list of brochures. If you have any questions please contact our Admin Assistant, Maddie Snyder.
Fitbits – For a limited time only, we are offering a ‘Reunite your child with their Fitbit’ service. If your child has lost a fitbit, please contact Mrs. Morlidge. Moving forward, these will be placed on the Lost and Found cart. Counting your steps is a great way to make sure you are getting enough exercise, and we are all about healthy children – but we do need you to abide by the handbook policy (students may only wear electronic devices on their wrists that are intended to be time keeping or step counting devices. Students may not wear anything with game, calculator, phone, Wi-Fi, camera, or GPS functionality) and to label or engrave their devices. Thank you!
Awards of Excellence – There is still time to submit your nominations! Please visit the link below by Friday, March 8th. We appreciate your time and effort in recognizing those who you feel are deserving of special acknowledgement. Thank you for your participation in this important recognition program www.brighthorizons.com/awards
