Important upcoming dates:

Dear CHA Community,

If the weather forecast is to be believed, Snowmageddon II is coming tomorrow afternoon.   Student safety is our number one priority.  We have made the decision today in order to give families ample time to work out transportation and childcare considerations for a two-hour early release tomorrow.  School will be let out at 1:30 for all students tomorrow.  There will not be a p.m. shuttle service or p.m. Extended Day.  We will send out communication if an earlier release is necessary at the first sight of snow. We will text you via Jupiter & Flash Alert, followed by email should the weather necessitate an earlier release than the 1:30 time. Mrs. Morlidge has added a page to the CHA website explaining closure policies and how to stay informed - CHA Emergency Closures.  As CHA students are in school more hours and days than are required by the state, we already have time built in and will not be adding make-up days for the days missed thus far to our calendar.

Lunar New Year – Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for hosting a wonderful celebration for the CHA community to enjoy. The decorations look great and we can’t wait to see the dragon dance tomorrow.  We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in red!

Re-Enrolling at CHA – The best compliment you can give to the teachers and faculty at CHA is to re-enroll your child next year.  Thank you to those of you who already responded to last week’s email. For your convenience we have included the links below, please choose the grade your child will be entering in to. The signed forms will be due at 4:00pm on Friday, February 15th.

March Lunch Orders - The lunch order form for March is open until 4pm on Thursday, February 28th. If you have any questions about the menu, the ordering process or the billing, please email [email protected].

Mid-Winter Break Sign Up - There will be no school the week of February 18th for Mid-Winter Break. CHA will be completely closed on Monday, February 18th (President’s Day), but there will be camp available on Tuesday - Friday. Please visit the CHA Sign Up page to register your child for camp before February 12th.

Get your Gala Auction Tickets NOW! If you haven’t registered for this year’s Gala Auction, now is the time. The deadline to RSVP is February 18th. Information for registration and photos from last year’s fun can be found on our Auction page at www.chestnuthillacademy.com/Auction.  This is our marquis event to raise money for playground improvements, Boxlight interactive panels, and many, many other important projects that benefit our students. We encourage you to RSVP right away!

Auction Volunteers Needed - We are very excited for our upcoming Chestnut Hill annual Auction at the Bellevue Marriott on March 9th! If you are able to volunteer for any of the upcoming tasks, please add your name to the Sign Up here. Dates and times are subject to change as we get closer to the event, so your flexibility is much appreciated. Please contact Auction Chair: Sukriti Singhal for any questions: - [email protected]

We are Still Accepting Auction Donations: We are still in need of some great donations to help make our event a success. Items like spa gift cards, wine tasting, and wine, toys and jewelry make great auction items. The donation form can be found on the Auction web page.

Mom’s Night out at Jimmy Choo at the Bravern: THIS SATURDAY. If you haven’t responded yet, there is still time. Saturday, February 9th, from 4-6 pm. For more information and to RSVP, please click here. If you have any question, please feel free to reach out to Susan Archer at [email protected].

Volunteers Needed for Faculty Appreciation Week.  Volunteers are needed next month to start planning and organizing the event.  The success of our parent sponsored events depends largely on the generous contributions of time our members give. Please contact CHAPTER Volunteer Coordinator Steven Daly if you can assist with any of the activities.

CHAPTER Board Positions.  Please contact [email protected] if you’d be interested in participating in CHAPTER Leadership or Representative roles for the 2019 – 2020 school year.

All the best, Holly Senaga, Head of School
