New Q&A for REACH

Dear First Grade Families,

We made it through the first day of our REACH program. We realize that it is not a perfect system and understand the challenges of providing a qualitity learning experience at home. We appreciated all the parent feedback, understanding, and support as we are all learning this process together.

After receiving parent input and suggestions, we wanted to answer some of the major questions, concerns, and challenges parents are experiencing.

REACH Family Guide

Dear First Grade Families,

As we implement and begin the REACH program, we want to first say ‘THANK YOU’ for all in-person and on-line conferences that we held last week. Your continued support and commitment to your child’s learning makes a big difference.

We want to ensure that families feel supported and value parent feedback as we navigate this process together. We understand that many parents might have questions and concerns, please utilize our office hours between 12-2 Monday-Friday. We also recommend continuing to communicate via email or on Teams.

Conferences

Dear Parents,

As we begin to navigate this virtual world, we’d like to clarify that all conferences will be scheduled in person unless otherwise requested to have a video conference via Teams. If you’ve sent a request already, we ask that you please confirm that you’d like a video conference. We are also looking for volunteers to help pilot a one minute call today so we can be prepared with this system tomorrow.

If you have requested a video conference, please keep in mind:

Dear Families,

NO Assembly Tomorrow

Dear First Grade Families,

If you are not aware, tomorrow’s assembly has been postponed to a later date.

Thank you to all the families that supported their child to prepare for the assembly, either helping with lines or learning the song.

We will continue to keep parents updated on change of date for the assembly.

We appreciate all of the parent support and understanding.

Ms. Carver's Homeroom Class Celebration

Hello Ms. Carver’s Homeroom Class,

Ms. Carver’s homeroom class may wear pajamas and bring a stuffie to school today (2/12).  There was a mix-up yesterday and students may be a bit confused, but they are allowed to wear pj’s to school! The class voted to have the celebration once we return from break, but many students still think it is today. We will have another bigger celebration after break if your child forgets to wear their pajamas today. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns! I apologize for the confusion.

Ms. Chow's Homeroom Class Celebration

Hello Ms. Chow’s Homeroom Class,

Only students who are in Ms. Chow’s homeroom class may wear pajamas and bring a stuffie to school tomorrow (2/12).  There was a mix-up at the end of the day and students may be a bit confused, but they are allowed to wear pj’s to school! Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns!

Thank you,

Ms. Chow

Book Report Clarification

Hi Families! Many parents were asking during dimissal about whether students had to complete both the ‘Pop-up Book’ and ‘Diorama’, the answer is NO. Please disregard the ‘Pop-up Book’ page if it was in your child’s packet. I know some parents recieved different information, but the first grade team decided that the diorama will be the only visual aide required for the first trimester project report.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out your child’s Languge Arts teacher.
