Product Requirements

Aerosol sprays and combined sunscreen and insect repellent are prohibited.

All sunscreen/sunblock and insect repellent provided by a parent/guardian must be:
• Must provide UVB and UVA protection with an SPF of 15 or higher.
• Provided in the original container.
• Clearly labeled with the child’s full name.
• Within the expiration date.
• Appropriate for the age of the child.
• Free of nut ingredients.
• Applied at home at least once to test for any allergic reaction

Families are responsible for applying the first layer of sunscreen prior to morning drop-off and must provide it for use during the camp day.

Acknowledgement required

I acknowledge that for my camper’s safety, if sunscreen is not provided, I will be contacted to bring it before my camper can participate in outdoor activities if the UV Index is 3 or over.

Sun Safetyrequired

I will practice sun safety by providing sunscreen for the day, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle with my child's name on it.

By typing my name in the box below, I give permission for the staff at CHA Summer Camp to apply the sunscreen product I have provided on my child, as specified, when he or she engages in outdoor activities.

During the camp day, our staff will take all reasonable and appropriate steps to help each child reapply sunscreen to exposed skin, including the face, the tops of ears, and bare shoulders, arms, legs, and feet, before campers participate in outdoor programs.

Insect Repellents

Insect repellents are optional, but if provided, must:

Contain a concentration of 30% DEET or less. Repellents without DEET may only be used if they are safe for your child’s age
Be delivered in a pump spray or a wipe.
