Camp Explorations - Fun and enriching camps for children, Kindergarten through 5th Grade, during school breaks!Guided by our amazing Instructional Assistants who make learning fun and engaging, each camp day is packed with hands-on activities centered around exciting themes that change with every session. Whether your child is experimenting in STEM, painting a masterpiece in Art class, or playing a team game in Movement, CHA camps are a great way to stay curious, creative, and connected. Extended Day - Before and after-care program.

Morning Extended Day
During Morning Extended Day, students can ease into the day by spending time with peers in the classroom. Activities are supervised and designed to help students start their morning in a calm, positive environment, with options such as reading and quiet activities.

Afternoon Extended Day on School Days
The Afternoon Extended Day Program begins at 3:30 p.m. on school days.

On school days, our Instructional Assistants support each grade level through a consistent routine that includes:

A snack break (students bring their own nut‑free snack from home)
A brief lesson that extends Leader in Me practices into the Extended Day environment
Dedicated homework time, with support from Instructional Assistants as needed
Outdoor recess period (weather permitting).

Students are encouraged to complete as much of their homework as possible during this structured period. Payment for Extended Day is drafted via ACH.

Afternoon Extended Day on Camp Days
The Afternoon Extended Day Program begins at 4:00 p.m. on camp days.

Campers can choose from a variety of supervised activities, including indoor games, arts and crafts, reading, free‑choice play,
and an outdoor recess period (weather permitting).
The focus is on creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where campers can unwind, socialize, and enjoy their time before or after the main camp schedule.

Mid-Winter Break Camp! February 17th - 20th

Welcome to the Mad Science Winter Lab!
Get ready for a frosty blend of imagination, exploration, and hands‑on winter wonders!

This mid‑winter break, campers will tinker, test, and investigate, designing chilly creations in Art and experimenting with winter-inspired materials in STEM.
Campers will get curious in Blizzard Brainstorm sessions, which spark problem‑solving and teamwork with brain games that challenge their minds as much as the weather challenges their mittens.

This camp is the perfect blend of frosty fun and learning. Bundle up and brace for brilliance—our Mad Science Winter Lab awaits!

Registration opens on our website one month prior to each scheduled camp.
If you’re registering through your employer’s Back-Up Care program, please note that registration dates may vary.

We also offer camp on select school days, such as Goal Setting Days and Parent/Teacher Conferences, to support families when regular classes are paused.

Extended Day/Camp - Cost & Policies

COST

Full day (9am - 4pm) - Camp Day	$100
Full day (9am - 4pm) - School’s Out	$80
Camp Extended Day (7:30 - 9:00 and/or 4:00-5:30)	$30/day
Lunch Fees	$8.50 (if ordered in advance)

The Monthly Extended Day package does not include care on Camp days or Camp Extended Day.
Camp programs and Extended Day require separate registration and payment.
Registrations submitted within seven calendar days of the camp’s start date—including weekends—will incur a $50 late fee.

HOURS

Our camp hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
We offer extended day from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM.

POLICIES

If you want to use the BUCA or School’s Out benefits register directly through Back-Up Care Advantage. You will be billed through the Back-Up Care Advantage system. Please note that the School’s Out and BUCA benefits involve different rates/features.
If we have met our maximum capacity for childcare, we will reach out to you to regretfully notify you that we cannot accommodate your request for this session. Thank you for your understanding.

If you have missed the registration deadline (excluding BUCA) or have not registered for a care session and arrive expecting care, your camper will be accepted for care (if space is available), and a late fee of $50 will be charged on intersession and conference days. Regular camp charges still apply, including Extended Day fees.

Enrollment changes for Camp should be made at least two full weeks in advance, in writing (email acceptable). If you need to cancel a camp registration for any reason, please notify CHA as soon as possible at camp@chestnuthillacademy.com. Registrants will be charged for the full week/day of camp if less than 2 weeks' notice of cancellation is given, or if the child is enrolled but the registrant does not attend camp.
Any child remaining at CHA when Extended Day closes will be charged $10 per minute in late pick-up fees to their account until their parents have picked them up. Please use this form to pay late pick-up fees.

What does a typical day at Camp look like?

Camp Schedule

7:30-9:00 AM Morning Extended Day

9:00 AM Morning drop-off, and welcome routines

9:00 AM Camp begins!

9:00-9:30 Morning gathering and outdoor play

9:30-11:30 AM Theme-based camp activities and staggered recess schedules

11:00-12:30 Staggered lunch and recess sessions

12:30-1:30 PM Theme-based camp activities

1:30-2:30 PM Afternoon snack and free play.

2:30-4:00 PM Theme-based camp activities and staggered recess schedules

4:00 PM Camp day ends!

4:00-5:30 PM Afternoon Extended Day: snack, self-guided exploration and independent activities

Drop off and Pick-Up:
Parents/guardians are required to sign their child in and out of camp each day at the front desk.

Snack Times:
We have snack times in the morning, mid-day, and again in the afternoon.
Please provide your camper with plenty of snacks.

FAQs

EXTENDED DAY AND CHILDCARE FAQ’S

Do I have to register through both the Camp Registration form and the School’s Out system if I need care during conference days? If you are a Microsoft family utilizing the School’s Out or Back-Up Care benefit, then you must register through the School’s Out or Back-Up Care system. If you are not a Microsoft employee, you must register through the Camp Registration Form above, which will be sent out in Campus Updates.

How do I sign up for the after-school care program, and how do I make payments for it? If you want your student to be enrolled in our after-school care program (Extended Day), you should indicate this on your TADS Registration. Payment for Extended Day will be drafted automatically via ACH.

Once I’m enrolled, can I add more weeks? Yes! More camp weeks mean more fun! You can add more weeks at any time, based on availability. Additions can be made by registering through our Addition Weeks form, which can be found on our website.

Once I’m enrolled, can I make changes? Yes, if you registered through CHA, please email us at camp@cheshnuthillacademy.com. If you registered through your employer's Back-Up care system, please reach out to them directly.

Can my child be grouped with their friends? Yes! We do our best to accommodate at least one friend request per camper. Please reach out to us by email prior to your first day of camp. Friend requests cannot be guaranteed, but we do our best. Please note that your camper may not be in the same pod as the week prior.

How are campers grouped for the week? Campers will be divided into Pods depending on their grade/age.

What should my camper bring to camp? A labeled water bottle, snacks, lunch (if not ordered in advance), and weather-appropriate clothing.
