Matriculation

At Chestnut Hill Academy, we prepare students not just for their next school, but for a lifetime of learning and leadership. Through our Leader in Me Lighthouse framework, students develop the confidence, character, critical thinking, and self-management skills needed to thrive in new environments. Each year, CHA graduates transition successfully to a wide range of exceptional independent, public, faith-based, and specialized middle schools throughout the greater Seattle area, carrying with them the knowledge, resilience, and leadership mindset that set them apart. In 2026, 78% of CHA 5th grade students were offered places at the private middle schools listed below.

“This school is so good! We have been with this school since 2016, and might I say, it is so good. I love how not only to they teach the kids to strive in academics, but they also encourage leadership using the 8 habits. I also love the staff, who teach and encourage the students daily. This year, my fifth grade daughter is graduating, and we are so sad to leave! Last of all, thank you to the Head of School, who made their Washington D.C trip so fun!”

Secondary School Counseling & Transition Support

At Chestnut Hill Academy, we take a thoughtful, personalized approach to helping families navigate the transition from elementary school to middle school and beyond. Beginning in the upper elementary years, we partner with parents to explore school options, discuss individual goals, and identify the learning environment where each child will thrive.

Our team provides guidance throughout the admissions process, including school recommendations, records support, and application assistance when appropriate. We also work directly with students to help them approach this important milestone with confidence and self-awareness. Each fall, CHA hosts a Middle School Fair, giving our 4th and 5th grade families the opportunity to meet representatives from many of the schools where our students matriculate.
