Community

Chestnut Hill Academy is proud to offer more than outstanding academics. We also feel that it is important for families to come together and feel like an integral part of the community.

"The school is amazing. My son attended 1st through 5th grade and my daughter K - 5. Both LOVED going to school each day. I could not have asked for a stronger, more well rounded foundation for middle school and beyond. My son went on to Eastside Catholic School and thrived - well prepared by CHA for that transition. The CHA community (parents, teachers, staff) are a very tight community. The experience is unmatched."

Community building starts with the Ice Cream Social just before the first day of school. At this event, students and families celebrate the beginning of the school year, visit with faculty, learn who their teacher will be, and find their classrooms. In September, we enjoy the annual Walk-a-Thon, during which we come together to raise money for the school while staying fit and completing laps of the field. In the autumn, we invite you to join us for the Fall Festival, and in the winter, we ask you to join us for the Festival of Peace and Light. Parent volunteers organize the annual Scholastic Book Fair, grade level social events to build community, Family Math Night, and the always joyfully anticipated end-of-year picnic.

Academic events hosted by CHA throughout the year include Curriculum Night, which offers families the chance to visit with classroom and specialist teachers to learn more about the exciting educational opportunities awaiting their students each school year, and also Goal-Setting Conferences, which are the first parent-teacher conferences and provide an opportunity for families and faculty to build relationships and establish a shared vision and set of goals for each child for the year. During the year you will receive Report Cards at the end of each trimester and will attend other parent-teacher conferences, at the end of the year you will be invited by your child to join them for a Student-Led Conference, during which you will review your child’s portfolio and learning progress with them.
