Kindergarten | First Grade | Second Grade | Third Grade | Fourth Grade | Fifth Grade

Kindergarten

This week at Art, Kindergarten students had a catch-up day. We finished with the weaving project and If the Dinosaurs Came Back project.  

This week in Library, Kindergarten students enjoyed listening to the book “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose” by Lucille Colandro prior to checking out. Each week students will visit Library twice for a 30 minute class. Check out days are as follows: Wednesday: Bernal, Thursday:  Newell, Palladino

This week’s objectives in Kindergarten Music were vocal repertoire, movement to musical phrases, and Black History Month.   Kindergarteners continued working on music and movement from their Spring musical Stone Soup.  They were also introduced to the song we’ll be singing at our Black History Month assembly, We Are Family by Sister Sledge. 

We did not meet at all this week for PE due to the combination of snow days, skiing and the Lunar New Year celebration (and subsequent early release).

This week in Spanish, Kindergarten was only able to come once to Spanish. The students reviewed classroom items part two. They also discussed out of these items what can go inside a backpack (mochila). The students started coloring a backpack and drawing some of them items that can go inside of it. 

This week in Technology, Kindergarten used Tech Time to do STAR Early Literacy tests. Kindergarten has grown and improved so much! About half of the students could log in entirely on their own. Next week, Kindergarten will spend Technology Class making their own posters for the school musical in Kid Pix.

First Grade

This week at Art, First Grade students had a great time listening to Chinese Zodiac story and made fire breathing dragon art project.  

This week in Library, First Grade students enjoyed listening to the book “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose” by Lucille Colandro prior to checking out. Check out days are as follows: Tuesday: Chow.  Wednesday: Carver Thursday:  Wilcox

This week’s objectives in 1st Grade Music were vocal repertoire, movement to musical phrases, and Black History Month.  1st Graders continued working on music and movement from their Spring musical Swamped!  They were also introduced to the song we’ll be singing at our Black History Month assembly, We Are Family by Sister Sledge. 

We did not meet at all this week for PE due to the combination of snow days, skiing and the Lunar New Year celebration (and subsequent early release).

This week in Spanish, First Grade was only able to come once to Spanish. The students continued to work on the farm book. The students worked on their last illustrations of farm animals. When they were done some of them combined all their pages into a book.  

This week in Technology, First Grade used Kid Pix to make posters for the school musical. The posters look fantastic! Classes who missed this week will create their posters next week.

Second Grade 

This week at Art, Second Grade students contributed to the classroom canvases for the auction and continued working on the How to catch a star project.  

This week in Library, Second Grade students enjoyed listening to the book “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose” by Lucille Colandro prior to checking out. Check out days are as follows: Wednesday: Duffina. Thursday: Fox,  Morman

This week’s objectives in 2nd Grade Music were vocal repertoire, movement to musical phrases, and Black History Month.  2nd Graders continued working on music and movement from their Spring musical Bremen Town Jam!  They were also introduced to the song we’ll be singing at our Black History Month assembly, We Are Family by Sister Sledge. 

We did not meet at all this week for PE due to the combination of snow days, skiing and the Lunar New Year celebration (and subsequent early release).

This week in Spanish, Second Grade was only able to come once to Spanish. The students reviewed el/la(the) and una/una(a). To practice what they learned the students worked on a worksheet. When they were down the student continued to work on their robots. This week some of them added arms and legs to their robots. 

This week in Technology, Second Grade used Kid Pix to make posters for the school musical. The posters look fantastic! Classes who missed this week will create their posters next week.

Third Grade 

This week at Art, Third Grade Students continued working on the hot air balloon project.  

This week in Library, Third Grade students enjoyed listening to “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose” by Lucille ColandroCheck out days are as follows: Wednesday: Warenkiewicz, Watkins. Thursday:  Shamsen

This week’s objectives in 3rd Grade Music were vocal repertoire, movement to musical phrases, and Black History Month.  3rd Graders continued working on music and movement from their Spring musical Life Cycles.  They were also introduced to the song we’ll be singing at our Black History Month assembly, We Are Family by Sister Sledge. 

We did not meet at all this week for PE due to the combination of snow days, skiing and the Lunar New Year celebration (and subsequent early release).

This week in Spanish, Third Grade was only able to come once to Spanish. The students continued worked on their final draft posters. The students got the final draft paper and added all the details about their house. They also glued it to a construction paper and put it in a sheet protector so it can be added to their portfolios. 

This week in Technology, Third Grade used Kid Pix to make posters for the school musical. The posters look fantastic! Classes who missed this week will create their posters next week.

Fourth Grade 

This week at Art, Fourth Grade students had a great time painting firework on their individual canvas. They enjoyed learning how to paint fireworks. 

This week in Library, only Mrs. Springer’s class had check out due to the shortened week. Check out days are as follows: Monday: Taylor Thursday:  Springer

This week’s objectives in 4th Grade Music were vocal repertoire, movement to musical phrases, and Black History Month.  4th Graders continued working on music and movement from their Spring musical Go West!  They were also introduced to the song we’ll be singing at our Black History Month assembly, We Are Family by Sister Sledge. 

We did not meet at all this week for PE due to the combination of snow days, skiing and the Lunar New Year celebration (and subsequent early release).

This week in Spanish, I was only able to see Mrs. Springers Fourth Grade class. The students watched one of the episodes from the Spanish mystery “Eres tu Maria”. They also worked on comprehension questions about this episode. These questions can be found on their OneNote account.

 Fifth Grade 

This week at Art, 5th grade students finished with their Furniture Design project! (Except for a couple students) Please don’t forget to stop by 3rd floor gallery to see their wonderful creations. Mrs. Dewitt’s class finally were able to enjoy their earned free choice day.  

This week in Library, Fifth Grade students did not have class due to the shortened week. Check out days are as follows: Tuesday: Norkus. Wednesday:  Dewitt

This week’s objectives in 5th Grade Music were vocal repertoire, movement to musical phrases, and Black History Month.  5th Graders continued working on music and movement from their Spring musical Wizard of Oz and explored sound effects for scene changes.  Students were also introduced to the song we’ll be singing at our Black History Month assembly, We Are Family by Sister Sledge.
