Dear CHA Community,
The feeling of fellowship is alive and well within the CHA community. From the start of the week with our Book Fair opening and students getting “Caught Reading” to the Spaghetti Feed for the Bleeding Foundation, we’ve established yet again our culture of caring. The Fall Festival would not be successful without the leadership of Ruth Villasenor, Bob Rees, Phoebe Choi, Ilene Gorski, Marsha Setting, Derek Heinz, and the CHA staff. On behalf of our student and parents, I’d like to thank each of you for providing us an opportunity to synergize and enjoy this remarkable event. I’m in awe of your many talents and appreciate our time together.
Middle School Parent Panel – Please join me on Wednesday, October 24th from 11:00-1:00 for lunch for an informative session hosted by CHA alumni parents who have students attending EPS, Lakeside, Overlake, Eastside Catholic, Forest Ridge. Parents will share about their experience with applying out, parent and student interviews, testing and what to expect from now until decisions are shared. Please RSVP on the SignUp Genius on the CHA website.

Book Fair - Thank you to the coordinators, volunteers and participants in the Book Fair this week! The children were excited by the great selection of books available and the volunteers have worked incredibly hard this week, setting up a Book Fair and running it flawlessly! Proceeds will raise money for the school, so teachers can have a huge supply of new books in the classroom! CHA will receive 55% of sales to buy new books for the classrooms and library.

Diwali Celebration – Friday, November 9th, 1:00-3:00pm - The Indian community at CHA would like to welcome all students and parents to a celebration of DIWALI! Diwali, the festival of light, celebrates the victory of good over evil, of light over darkness. We welcome light into all corners by lighting small lamps, also called diyas. Last year’s Diwali celebrations were a big success with the students. The student and parent community can look forward to traditional decorations and an afternoon of fun filled activities again this year. Chef Megan will serve Indian inspired snacks, sourced and prepared at CHA. There will be opportunity for crafts, dancing and even dress up. Our colorful photo booth will be the back-drop for the kids to model festive Indian attire, which we hope to capture in photos for lifelong memories. We look forward to seeing you there!
