Dear CHA Community,
This is it! It’s what you’ve been waiting for! The opportunity to tell us the good, the great (you thought I was going to say “bad”, remember, Habit 4? Think Win-Win) and the perfect about CHA on the Parent Satisfaction Survey – Another draw took place today, and the winner of the $100 gift certificate is Vinutha Adiga – Rishab’s mom. If you’d like a chance at winning the final draw, click here before Sunday, May 13th when the survey closes. Please print the confirmation page at the end of the survey and turn it into the front desk. The winner will be announced here. Currently, we have the highest participation in the Schools Division. Thank you in advance for helping us to boost those numbers and break over the halfway point! We are truly committed to providing the highest quality education for your child and we know that every opinion counts.
2018-19 School Registration Forms - Although we are still in the midst of our third trimester, it’s time for the CHA admin team to look ahead to the 2018-19 school year. In order to help us get a head start on our preparations, we are sending out registration information earlier this year to give you the opportunity to get this chore out of the way before you start planning your summer vacation. You should have received an email from Mrs. Morlidge on Wednesday. If you did not receive it, please email her at email@example.com. We are requesting that all registration forms be updated no later than August 1st, 2018, to ensure we have all the necessary information on site to properly care for your child. Failure to submit all the required registration information by August 1st will result in your child not being able to return to school on Wednesday, September 5th.
Bob Rees - We are delighted to share with you the news that our Music teacher extraordinaire, Mr. Bob Rees, has finished his Master of Music Education Program and will be collecting his degree from Anderson University at the graduation ceremony in South Carolina this weekend. Congratulations to Mr. Rees, and to his family who have supported him through this process!
May Professional Day - On Friday, May 25th, CHA will be holding a Professional Development Day, and school will not be in session. Childcare will be offered, and you can sign up here. The sign-up closes at 4 PM on Friday, May 18th. Microsoft families utilizing their School’s Out or BUCA benefits should register separately through the School’s Out and BUCA systems. The theme for this day of childcare will be “Game On!” From Human Checkers to Giant Jenga, there will be games galore!
Bright Horizons’ Walk-On 1K and Truck Day - Join us for a fun-filled morning of vehicle exploration, all while making a difference in the lives of children in need! Local Bright Horizons locations are collaborating to put on a day of family fun on Saturday, June 30th, at Mercerdale Park on Mercer Island, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 pm. The event will include a 1K walk around the beautiful park, followed by up-close and personal explorations of various cars and trucks, from construction equipment to emergency vehicles. Make your way around the car-themed children’s activities, including face painting, a bubble station, toy car wash, crafts, and a trike race! Entrance to the event is free, but all proceeds from the event go to the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, a non-profit organization focused on brightening the lives of children and families in crisis. For additional information, visit the event page.
Lost Property and Uniform Swap - The lost property cart by the front desk is full to overflowing, and the contents will be moved to the garage this evening. If you recognize any of these items, please retrieve them from the storage racks before they go to Goodwill. You will find the storage racks by taking the elevator down to the basement, turn left to exit to the parking garage and the racks will be on your left as you go through the door to the garage. The Uniform Swap is running low on some items, so if you are doing any spring cleaning this weekend, we would appreciate your donations of gently use, freshly washed, ready to hang items. You can either leave them at the front desk for Mrs. Morlidge, or drop them off in the Uniform Swap which is next to the Music Room on the 1st floor.
Camp Explorations - The 10% Early Bird Discount on enrollment closes next Saturday (May 19th). We have an amazing summer planned with endless opportunities for engineering, cooking, art, mathematics, sports, leadership, water play, and more, and we look forward to some great field trips and workshops! All the information you need is here.
