Dear CHA Community,

As our world comes together to form a global culture, the need for cultural immersion grows.  Cultural immersion is an important part of learning to understand other people and how to communicate effectively.  Currently, there are 300 distinct languages and dialects spoken in the United States.  Within our own school community, we have many distinct languages and dialects shared daily.  One of the greatest benefits of cultural immersion during childhood is the opportunity to improve cognitive development over time.

Today offered students the experience of exploring Asian cultures through the celebration of the Lunar New Year with a variety of activities.  The staff, students and I would like to thank Zhiyan Cao, her committee and volunteers for providing our students this extraordinary experience.

Awards of Excellence - IMPORTANT MESSAGE - At Chestnut Hill Academy, we recognize the talents of dedicated, creative, and hardworking people who care passionately about children, families, and each other. The Bright Horizons Awards of Excellence is our signature recognition program, acknowledging those who inspire us with their exceptional efforts and make the school the best it can be. Now is your chance to recognize those who impress, support, and care for you with their consistent excellence. To start nominating, please visit the link before Friday, February 23rd.  www.brighthorizons.com/awards  We appreciate your time and effort in recognizing those who you feel are deserving of special acknowledgement. Thank you for your participation in this important recognition program!

Kindness Week - Student Council members will be hosting a Kindness Week Fundraiser, February 12th-16th.  This week they have been selling Kindness/Friendship Grams which will be delivered next week.
