Our 5th grade leaders led the CHA student body through a remarkable Veteran’s Day Assembly this afternoon. They welcomed the community through music being played on the marimbas, xylophones, and drums accompanied by our 4th graders on their recorders who also sang our Washington State Song. There were many other exciting events that occurred throughout the assembly such as the Pledge, School Song and Star Spangled Banner were both sung, Veteran’s Day History delivered through PowerPoint, Readers Theater, and the finale of the 5th graders singing, “On Veteran’s Day”. Their demonstration of leadership was seen throughout as they guided the student body seamlessly throughout the hour. Congratulations to Mrs. Taylor, Ms. Carpenter and the 5th grade class.

If you still have questions after reading the material, or attending the presentation, please do not hesitate to reach out to Coach McIntosh.
Food Drive - Student Council will begin their annual food drive next week. Students are encouraged to begin bringing in non-perishable items beginning Monday and place them on the table in the gallery across from the student pictures. Pasta, toilet paper, canned meat, box meals, tuna, canned fruits and vegetables (no green beans) and other items are welcome. Our Student Council will complete a daily count and our goal is to collect 2,000 items, which the students will deliver on Thursday, November 16th to the Renewal Food Bank.
Lost and Found - Mrs. Morlidge is on a mission to reunite people with their property The lost and found cart in the front lobby is full and the items on it are moving to the parking garage on Monday. You can see pictures of the items on the cart here. Please come and collect them. You can make it easier for us to get your property back to your child by labeling it. Labels are available from Mabel’s Labels here and our PTA, CHAPTER, gets a small donation with each purchase. Just remember to select “CHAPTER Chestnut Hill Academy (Bellevue)” from the dropdown list, then select an option from the ‘Clothing Labels’ dropdown.
