Childcare

Extended Day

This is the Chestnut Hill Academy before and after school program which you can enroll in via the Student Information Form. Payment will be drafted via ACH. For details of costs associated with the program please click here. Students who arrive at school between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m. will be checked in to Extended Day and have the opportunity to spend time with other students in the classrooms and outside (weather permitting). The afternoon Extended Day Program begins at 3:00 p.m. for Kindergartners and 3:30 p.m. for 1st through 5th graders. Kindergartners that are in extracurricular activities are lined up by 3:30 p.m. and taken to their activities by 3:45 p.m. Kindergarten is usually outside from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. throughout the week.

Regular Extended Day starts at 3:30 p.m. when the rest of the school is out. Instructional Assistants and Specialists have all students checked in on the playground, and usually go out to the field first. This gives the students an opportunity to run around and play with their friends until they go back inside.

When students come inside at 4:00 p.m. they go to their designated Extended Day rooms for an hour of quiet time in which they can start working on their homework. At this time students are given a nutritional snack that is provided by the chef, or eat their own snack from their lunch boxes if they would prefer. Students are able to work with Instructional Assistants if they need help with their homework during this time. Chestnut Hill Academy closes promptly at 6:00 p.m. Any child still remaining at CHA at this time will be charged $10 per minute to their account until their parents have picked them up.
