Enrichment

Chestnut Hill Academy is very proud of its enrichment program. We offer specialist classes in art, library, music, physical education, Spanish and technology during the day. All students participate in a Spring Musical production each year where they learn about public speaking, team work, and performing in front of an audience. During the year there are opportunities for students to take part in musical and choral events at different venues. We also have a wonderful Art Walk that showcases the students’ art throughout the year. In the winter, the whole school participates in a ski program which is challenging and great fun for all the students.

Chestnut Hill Academy also has a very active Student Council. Student Council is a group of students who organize a variety of activities during the year, present student concerns to school leadership, and plan and implement Service Learning Projects. Each fall, an election is held to give students the opportunity to run for a position on Student Council. Student Council students display an outstanding character and obtain strong leadership potential.

At Chestnut Hill Academy we believe in hands-on and real world experiences. Whenever possible we pair our academic curriculum with field trips and guest speakers to bring these experiences to life. There are also countless field trips for all grades during the year, including IslandWood Environmental Camp for 4th Grade, and culminating in the 5th Grade visit to Washington DC every May.  Some field trips change from year to year with new and exciting offerings. We also have a variety of guest speakers throughout the year.
