Community

Chestnut Hill Academy is proud to offer more than outstanding academics. We also feel that it is important for families to come together and feel like an integral part of the community. We begin our school year with the Ice Cream Social in August. At this event students and families to celebrate the beginning of a new school year, visit with the staff, and stop by the classrooms. In September CHAPTER (our parent teacher organization) organizes the annual Walk-a-Thon where we come together to raise money for the school while we get fitter. In the autumn we invite you to join us for the Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, and in the winter we ask you to join us for the Festival of Peace and Light and the Multicultural Fair. In February, CHAPTER organizes our annual auction which is the major fundraising event of the year.

Academic Events hosted by CHA through the year include Curriculum Night which offers parents the chance to visit with the classroom and specialist teachers and learn about the exciting educational opportunities awaiting their students each school year, and Goal-Setting Conferences which are the first Parent-Teacher Conferences. These meetings occur in September, are approximately 25 minutes in length with your child’s teachers, and will include information about skill group placement and goal-setting for the academic year. During the year you will receive Report Cards and attend Parent-Teacher Conferences, and at the end of the year you will be invited in to school by your child for a Student-Led Conference where you will review your student’s portfolio with them.

CHAPTER  also puts on parenting classes, the Scholastic Book Fair, Social Nights, Family Math Night, and the End of Year Picnic.
